Brake Pressure Sensor 1

The brake pressure sensor measures how much pressure is in the brake system. If it reads too low or too high, it triggers this code.

The engine control module sees a brake pressure reading that is outside the expected range, typically below 0.5 volts or above 4.5 volts.

Don't just throw parts at it. Walk through these in order — each step tells you whether to keep going or stop and fix what you found.

1. 11. Check brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Is it low? If yes, refill and retest for the code. If not low, continue to step 2.
2. 22. Inspect the wiring harness and connector for the brake pressure sensor. Any damaged wires or loose connections? Repair or replace as necessary and retest.
3. 33. Using a multimeter, check the voltage at the brake pressure sensor. Is it between 0.5 and 4.5 volts when the brakes are not applied? If yes, the sensor is likely functioning properly. If not, continue to step 4.
4. 44. Replace the brake pressure sensor. Clear the fault codes and test drive the vehicle to see if the code returns.
